Historical development essay. Using the Gospel Book of Durrow (15-5), the Coronation Gospels (15-20), and the Gospels of Otto III (15-29) as the basis of your essay, explain how Christianity spread throughout Europe during the Early Medieval period through works of art. How do these 3 examples demonstrate different influences in their design and appearance during the times in which they were made? In order to fully answer this question, you must read the short letter from Pope Gregory I to Abbot Mellitus, which can be found in the module for the Early Medieval unit. It is labeled “Conversion Sources” and you must incorporate information from this primary source into your explanation of the manuscripts.
